Karl Lagerfeld was van 1983 tot zijn overlijden in februari 2019 creatief directeur, daarna leidde Virginie Viard de collecties tot juni 2024. Sinds december 2024 is Matthieu Blazy creatief directeur. Chanel biedt exclusieve tassen, schoenen, kleding en accessoires. Iconische tassen zijn de Classic Flap, 2.55 en Boy Bag.
