GANNI werd in 2000 opgericht door kunsthandelaar en galeriehouder Frans Truelsen als kasjmierlabel, en groeide door de jaren heen uit tot een merk met een Scandi 2.0-stijl vol persoonlijkheid en contrasten. In 2009 namen Ditte en Nicolaj Reffstrup het Kopenhaagse merk over; Ditte werd creatief directeur en gaf GANNI zijn huidige signatuur.
